OVA — VMware ESXi 7 + 8
Hardware version 14 for broadest compatibility. Import, configure OVF properties (IP, hostname, admin password), and Chronolith is running. No console access required post-deploy.
Priority 1 · Linux
install.sh — Ubuntu 22.04/24.04, RHEL 8/9
One-command installer. Bundles Python runtime, PostgreSQL setup, and systemd service registration. First-boot wizard at port 8200. No technical prerequisites beyond a clean OS install.
Priority 2 · Hyper-V
VHDX — Windows Server 2019/2022/2025
Generation 2 virtual machine image. Linux Integration Services included. Standard Hyper-V import, same first-boot wizard. Suitable for MSPs running Microsoft-native infrastructure.

Chronolith1.0.00Setup.exe — Windows Server
NSIS installer bundles Python 3.11 and PostgreSQL 15. Registers Chronolith as a Windows Service. Opens browser to the setup wizard on completion. For environments where VMs aren't an option.

QCOW2 — KVM, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV
Built via Packer from the same Rocky Linux 9 base image as the OVA. virtio drivers included for AHV performance. Prism accepts OVA import directly if preferred.

RAM (minimum)32 GB — recommended 64 GB for Advanced/Enterprise tiers
Storage500 GB minimum (90-day working retention), 2 TB recommended for Advanced/Enterprise. Longer-term archival storage sizes separately based on retention policy and source volume. NVMe SSD recommended for event tables.
NetworkOutbound: your AI provider of choice (BYOK — provider-agnostic), CISA/MITRE feed endpoints. Inbound: WEF port 5985, syslog port 514, UI port 8200. No cloud data egress.
